Our Philosophy – “Straight to the point”.

You are at the centre of all that we do.  We want to help you solve your problems and enable you to look clearly into the future.   We strive to provide a friendly, highly effective personal service, providing straightforward advice based upon our deep knowledge and expertise.

Communication

Legal issues can sometimes be extremely complex and the language used can be confusing.  To help you understand these issues we always try to use plain English, without technical terms or jargon.  We want to be sure you fully understand what will be involved. We try to ensure that we are always contactable just in case an unexpected problem arises and you need to get in touch with us.

Our Fees

Miller Sands aim to provide a friendly efficient service at competitive prices.  Most property related matters, standard Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney are dealt with on a fixed fee basis.

We provide a FREE initial consultation for family matters so we can establish what work may be required. We can then give you an indication of our costs. In addition to these costs we will highlight any additional expenses that may arise. We believe in complete transparency. Should costs change at any time, we will advise you immediately.

History of Miller Sands

Mr Sidney James Miller first put up his plate as a solicitor in Petty Cury in Cambridge on the 18th April 1893. He practiced alone until he was joined by his son Sidney Tomsett Miller in 1925. The firm of SJ & ST Miller survived the death of Mr Miller senior in 1940, and continued to practice from 20 St Andrews Street. When Mr Miller junior died in 1967, five new partners took over the running of the firm, and it became known as Miller & Co. The firm moved to 75-79 Regent Street in 1973, where it remained for 35 years.

In 1999, anticipating the retirement of partner Rosemary Sands, at that time a very well known divorce lawyer in Cambridge, the firm changed its name to Miller Sands.  Miller Sands relocated in 2007 to Impington, just outside Cambridge city centre. The firm’s present office is a modern purpose built building with air conditioning, plenty of free car parking and a ground-floor meeting room, making it popular with staff and clients alike.

Charity

Miller Sands is proud to support the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

“I hope that you will continue to serve my needs for the rest of my life.”
